Force Field Faith II

February 24, 2014

There comes a time in everyone’s life when we must choose – to stand for God or not. The words of Joshua, Moses’ successor, still challenges us today: “Choose this day whom you will serve, whether the gods your fathers served…or the gods…in whose land you dwell. But as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD” (Joshua 24:15). Although mistreated by his nephew who chose the better land, Abraham chose kindness over conquest at an opportune time (Genesis 13:1-12; 14:8-23). By faith, Abraham followed the call of God upon his life and put no trust in uncertain riches (1 Timothy 6:17). Instead, Abraham put his trust in the faithfulness of God. He trusted God’s provision for life and protection, which pleased God. After these things the word of the LORD came to Abram in a vision: “Fear not, Abram, I am your shield; your reward shall be very great” (Genesis 15:1). Abraham believed the LORD, and it was counted to him as righteousness (Genesis 15:6). Abraham had Force Field Faith!
