Summary

The Bible warns “that in the last days perilous times shall come” (2 Timothy 3:1). People will “have a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away” (2 Timothy 3:5). They will be ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth (2 Timothy 3:7). Christians today find many substitutes for the Word of God. To surrender the teachings of Christ is to dismiss Christ Himself since Jesus is the Living Word and the two cannot be separated (John 1:1-5, 14).  The person who accepts The Cross of Jesus Christ accepts the teachings of  Christ in the Bible. There is a binding link between what happened in the first Genesis at Creation when God said, “Let there be Light” and Creation II at the Cross of Christ when Jesus said, “It is finished!” To surrender the truth of Creation is to surrender the truth of The Cross of Jesus Christ. Jesus taught that God created the world and that God will judge the world (Mark 13:19; John 8:50). In 2 Timothy we are admonished, “Be diligent to present yourself approved to God, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth” ( 2 Timothy 2:15).
